Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Styon LLC (“Styon,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information on styon.com and the waitlist form. Styon LLC is a Georgia limited liability company at 5770 Shiloh Road, Suite 100, Alpharetta, Georgia 30005, United States.
This site is a pre-launch marketing site. It is not the STYON mobile app and it does not create an account, process payments, or store a closet. If those products later collect more data, we will publish an updated policy before that collection starts.
This page is a notice, not legal advice to you. We do not currently appoint an EU/UK Article 27 representative. If that changes, we will say so here.
1. What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- your email address (required);
- how you heard about us (required, from a fixed list);
- an optional styling interest you tap (for example, “capsule closet”);
- the time of submission. Clicking Join waitlist is how you agree to this policy.
We do not ask for your name, phone number, payment card, government ID, precise location, photos, or closet contents on this site.
To stop automated abuse we may briefly see your IP address and browser user-agent on the server that receives the form. We use that only for rate limiting. We do not save IP address or user-agent in the same record as your email.
This site does not set advertising cookies or load third-party ad, analytics, or social pixels. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP address when the browser fetches those files. We do not use that for advertising. Your browser may still send a standard request log to our host. Those logs are for security and operations, not for profiling you.
2. Why we use it
We use waitlist information to:
- record that you asked to be notified;
- email you about STYON’s launch or waitlist status from marketing@styon.com;
- see, in aggregate, which channels people come from.
We do not sell your email. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use it to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the legal basis for this processing is consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) / UK GDPR). You can withdraw consent by emailing us. Withdrawal does not undo sending we already did lawfully. For security rate limiting, the basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable (Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against the short, non-stored use of IP.
If you are in California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, we collect email, source, and optional styling interest as identifiers / customer records for the business purposes above. We do not “sell” or “share” that information as those laws define those words.
3. Where it is stored and who can see it
Records live in Google Cloud Firestore in the United States (multi-region nam5). The waitlist API runs on Google Cloud Run in us-central1 (United States). Google Cloud is a processor acting on our instructions. Google’s data-processing terms, including Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EEA/UK where Google offers them, apply between Google and us. We do not operate our own servers in the EU for this form.
If you are in the EEA/UK, submitting the form means your email and related fields are transferred to the United States. U.S. law does not provide the same government-access rules as EU/UK law. We rely on SCCs with our processor and on your consent to this transfer for the waitlist purpose.
People at Styon who handle marketing or operations may read the list. We do not hand the list to advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated apps. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or if we sell or reorganize the company — in that case the list would transfer only as part of that deal and still for the same waitlist purpose, unless we ask you again.
4. How long we keep it
We keep a waitlist row until (a) you ask us to delete it, or (b) we close the waitlist because the product is generally available or we abandon the launch, and in any event no longer than 36 months after your last update unless a longer hold is required by law (for example a dispute). After that we delete or irreversibly de-identify the record.
5. Your choices
Email marketing@styon.com from the same address you used, or write to the postal address below, to:
- ask for a copy of what we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it or withdraw waitlist consent;
- object or restrict, where those rights apply;
- ask for portability of the email and fields you gave us, where that right applies.
We will need to confirm it is you. We aim to answer within 30 days (45 days if a U.S. state law allows one extension, which we will tell you). You may also complain to your EEA/UK supervisory authority, or, if you are in California, to the California Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
We do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share” toggle because we do not sell or share as described above. If that changes, we will add a control before we start.
6. Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect waitlist data from anyone under 16 (or under 13 in the United States). If we learn we did, we will delete it. Parents or guardians should write to marketing@styon.com.
7. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially expands how we use waitlist emails (for example, a general newsletter beyond launch notices), we will update this page and, where consent is required, ask again before that new use.
